It will take you forever to get served at the bar, especially if you are the wrong colour.
Lazy and slow staff.

We liked this cafe, nice coffee,lovely homemade biscuits. Wish it was open on Sundays.

I have been to blue bricks a few times now with friends the first time it was very busy and the service was very good considering, the second time we enjoyed it also but the third time the service wasnt good at all, it was an afternoon and there was only a hand full of diners however our food took ages to come and my main course was missing its side which I only realised after we left and then our cold desserts took 45 minutes to come because they had forgotten!! Overall I do like Blue Bricks and I think the food is nice I just think they can be a little disorganised

Saturday 24.04 10
Walked down from friends property to find out if this pub was open as tried last year on a week day only to find it closed.
Found it to be open, went to the bar and a man reading a newspaper went to the other side to serve us. Unfortunately he only had one bottle of Corona beer, we asked for two, at least he had fresh lime!
Food menu not cheap for what it is, just as well we had already eaten. Lovely terraces and view! quite a few people sitting outside as it was a beautiful sunny day.
Would visit again, hopefully he stocks a few more Coronas next time!

would agree the food and drink is superb here. however the staff are very scruffy and a clean apron for the kitchen staff should be priority.
i hope the owners read all these comments and make this an enjoyable place to unwind

I just want to say that if you enjoy good friendly service, great coffee and fantastic food, Take-It is the leader. I have to say it’s probably the best venue south of Guilford. The only comment I would agree with the review is that it would be nice to see the staff in some unifrom to distinguish then from the diners.

It is the place where the owner would get pissed and fall asleep anywhere, Grant I seem to remember.
I worked there for a while around 2004 and it was always a pretty high standard although disjointed to say the least.
It was a bit of a hide away for local celebs including the hidious Jim davidson and his even more pathetic son!
Does any one know of any of the old staff from that time? especially the head chef Alan (cannot remember his surname)

Can’t say I agree with this review. The coffee is good and the food is excellent. You have to go for dinner. The dishes are absolutely superb. The owners have made a real effort here and created something different that does not feel pretentious. It actually captures the European Cafe culture spot on. Recommended.
